LEUNG Tat Sang Samues 梁達生

Samues graduated from Macquarie University, Sydney. He founded State-of-the-Arts Gallery in 2003 and started working as visual art designer in 2009. He learnt western painting in Singapore LaSalle College of the Arts and Nanyang Academy of Fine Art in 2013. He received his Master in Fine Art with distinction from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT University) in 2016 and was the Artist in Residency in Art Chiyoda 3331 Tokyo, Japan in the same year. He gained his another Master program in Arts and Cultural Enterprises by Central Saint Martin Design College, University of Arts London in 2018. In addition, Samues has taken various certificated courses including interior design, modern art creation, modern painting in Hong Kong Arts School and Art Management & Curatorship.

Currently, Samues works as Art Consultant. His projects have been implemented commission paintings and sculptures more than hundred pieces in public areas of real estates, commercial buildings and Government Department in Hong Kong and mainland China including five major landscape sculptures as his signature works, including a large scale of permanent art installation: “Fish-1989” for Drainage Services Department in 2019. He also worked for a public art project appointed by Hong Kong Housing Authority to design and build an architecture sculpture. This sculpture [Glory Star] which has been installed in 2020 to celebrate the history and glory of the Hong Kong film industry.

For art making practices, Samues has explored how an appreciation of the beauty of Japanese aesthetics and aspects of Zen philosophy that may be used to consider ideas of impermanence in the art making process of fine art context. Samues has exhibited in Tokyo, South Korea, Singapore, Melbourne, Venice and Hong Kong.

梁達生畢業於澳洲悉尼麥覺理大學。2003 年創辦 State-of-the-Arts畫廊 ,2009年轉向視覺藝術工作。於2013年遊學於新加坡,在拉薩爾 (LeSalle) 藝術學院和南洋美術學院學習西洋繪畫藝術。於2016年以優異生獲頒澳洲皇家墨爾本理工大學純藝術碩士,同年於日本東京千代田3331 Arts Chiyoda作駐場及策展藝術家。並於2017年首次在日本東京作個人展。於2018 年完成倫敦藝術大學、中央聖馬丁學院之藝術及文化企業碩士課程。此外亦在香港藝術學院修讀各種證書課程,包括室內設計、藝術創作、現代繪畫及藝術策展和管理等。

現為藝術顧問。工作包括多個策劃及設計等範疇,藝術作品及雕塑超過百多項,其中更包括五項大型户外雕塑裝置,展示於香港政府部門、酒店、私人屋苑及商業之公共空間,包括2019 年為香港渠務處制作之”魚-1989″ 之大型永久裝置。更為香港房委會另一項大型戶外雕塑進行設計及制作之顧問工作,主題為標誌香港電影業之光輝成就,作品於2020年中完成。

梁達生之藝術創作是藉着體現日本的美學和禪宗哲理,在創作過程中思考無常的觀念,和探討對意識感和極簡主義的思想作比較。這些探討都是來自於他對「侘寂」觀念的學習。這個對於美學和哲學的生活方式是擁抱自然和生活中的不完美;以清、樸、淡美和孤寂為殘缺美的追求。傾向於慢活修行和簡單生活方式去實現美的真確性。不講究完美,而是沈澱過後的精神在不同的媒介和創作背景下學習“憚”的概念,如探討“簡約主義”的取與捨。個人作品曾於日本、南韓、新加坡、墨爾本, 威尼斯及香港等地展出。
